Do you donate to your employer?

Do you donate to your employer?
If your answer was, “No, I donate my time… I work here!” I think that was the wrong answer.

Socrates once counseled: “Let him that would move the world first move himself.”

For fundraisers, I think he meant that someone who is charged with asking another for a donation should do some donating on their own first.

I eat my own dog food.
So does my staff. We use the same tracking and scoring technology we recommend you use. And why wouldn’t we? It works!
We use it to monitor tens of thousands of fundraisers around the world. We track their engagements with us. We score them. Then, we reach out to them when our software tells us they might be ready.

Of course, we believe you should use this technology too. (Request a demo)
How much would you trust me and my staff if we recommended you employ this technology we’re selling if we weren’t willing to use it ourselves?
Similarly, how could you expect a donor to trust you, your staff, your leadership and your Board if none of you were to donate? Tweet This! And besides, donating to your employer is the best way to gain empathy— to ascertain what it feels like to be a donor. Tweet This! You simply can’t comprehend what that feels like unless you, yourself, give.

So do it!
Give today. No matter the amount. Go online. Get your credit card ready. “First move your self.” Give! Tweet This!
