3 Easy Ways to Make a Video That Will Inspire Legacy or Major Gifts

Video is powerful.

  • 45.4% of the American population watches at least one online video a month
  • Consumers watched over 48 billion online videos in July 2013 alone, 7.4 billion minutes of which were advertisements
  • Using video results in higher amounts of traffic to your web pages
  • Online Landing Pages with video have up to 800% more conversions than the same page without
  • Video promotion is 6 times more effective than print and online ads
  • Video content is shared, on average, 1200% more times than links and text combined
  • In a study of over 800,000 e-mails sent, those with video saw a 5.6% higher open rate and a 96.4% higher click-through rate than those without
  • When “video” was used in the subject line of an e-mail, open rates increase by 7%

But you’re probably thinking, “Yeah but making a good video is time-consuming and expensive.”
Guess again!  Here’s a video we whipped up to promote legacy giving for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).  All we needed were some photos and some true stories.

How can you do it too?
1. Use Powerpoint
Use a nice picture like a sunset or a field as a background.  Then add the photos and text using the animation tools so they fade in and fade out nicely.  Then add music.  And, finally, save it as a movie.
2. Ask for a volunteer
Perhaps someone else on your staff or one of your volunteers would want to help.  Maybe you could try posting the project on Facebook.  Then send them the stories and photos and let ’em go to work.
3. Use Upwork, Airtasker or Guru
There are sites such as Upwork. Airtasker and Guru that you can use to hire freelancers at very reasonable rates.  Just describe what you want, upload your photos and text, and lots of folks will bid on the project.

Oh yeah… or you can contact us directly!  🙂
