How do I unsubscribe supporters from email marketing?

You can unsubscribe a list of emails by clicking on the “Unsubscribe Supporters” navigation in your Dashboard.* These may be supporters who have unsubscribed from your organization’s main email list, or perhaps it’s someone who reached out to you directly and you want to ensure they don’t receive your cultivation emails.

On the Unsubscribe page, you can paste a list of email addresses that should be removed from your campaign email blasts (i.e. Survey Efforts, CGA Efforts, Tell Your Story Efforts, etc.) and/or from your automated cultivation emails. Please enter one email address per line.

Please note that suppressions and unsubscribes should be handled differently.

  • Supporters who should never receive any email from your organization (i.e. they previously marked your emails as spam, they opted-out, etc.) should be unsubscribed.
  • Supporters who should be suppressed from specific efforts (i.e. you want to make sure legacy society members do not receive a survey) should be send to your Strategist and not unsubscribed. This action cannot be undone.
  • After you click “submit” you will receive a confirmation email to let you know we have received your request and are queuing your unsubscribe list. Please upload unsubscribe lists at least 48 hours in advance of an email blast.

    *If you do not see this option in your Dashboard, please send your unsubscribe list(s) to your Project Manager or Strategist.
